Zoom with students about:

-The simple Light/Shadow Value Formula to paint realistic sunshine

-Masterwork examples (blossoms and gardens)

-Concepts of light/shadow groups

-Examine warm/cool colors (same value, shift the color)

-Techniques to adjust photo reference

Take a 'walk in YOUR neighborhood and see what you can see.' Start simple with observation + value. Next see if you can find same value/color shift.

Next we look at master work examples and then the student critique!
