Demo of cherry trees, water and a white building show how value can do most of the work to make a vibrant scene. Also noted how to make use of neutral colors and not-perfect-blue for sky and water reflections.
Create a scene with cherry trees... they are more than white dots! Try to think of the light side and dark side within the tree mass. Form is important within your light grouping. A common pitfall is to pile on the white, but warm-cool shift and grey are essential for good trees. Shape also plays a role in a successful tree... avoid balls of white and look for the ragged shapes with light/dark form.
