Materials used: Fabriano 140# cold press paper, 9x12" with transparent watercolors. Gouache or oil media may be used for this project.
Start with the intent of the project (the figure) regardless of media. Acrylic and gouache are best done while wet for the face as it may be hard to match skin tones and value, oil painters should try to create the face wet-in-wet as blending will foster a more realistic and soft look. This is why the watercolor demo can be useful... to not be afraid of the wet paint.
