A 'quick capture' with knife and brush show an more intuitive approach to making a painting. This painting was created after the 'Plein Air on the Potomac' video and took a fraction of the time.
Try making a quick second painting after your first one. The second one feels like a 'bonus' painting and often I'm surprised at how much easier the process feels. Try to have no expectations and just 'move paint' around to capture a quick study, or color notes. It's good to always have an extra panel in the field for a bonus quick painting.
