The first part is 'real time' and slower paced for some step-by-step sand/dunes and grasses. However, the majority of this painting is add, subtract, design, scrape, layer, etc. Therefore the second part addresses my real process with some fast forward action for students to learn about the process.
This is not a 'follow-allong' tutorial, rather a case study for how to find your own groove for the push-pull of paint required to make a painting. Regardless of your process (intuitive, linear, graphic, etc.) this will show you how to keep track of the 'main idea' when painting.
Try to see which parts of the video resonate with your painting style. Notice how I'm ruthless in trying out ideas. I honor my impulses and am not afraid of my art. This is of utmost importance when in the flow and creating.
